Book Report Procedures

Every day month the students will be asked to read a book and enter minuets into the Road to Success website. (here is a link)
Then they will be asked to do a book report or other activity (as outlined below). The book report each month will be due the last week of the month and will be worth 40 points. Each book report consists of 2 activities, the report and the fun extra thing. Here is the breakdown of how those points will be awarded.
10 pts - Reading the correct genre. for that month. Below i have a list of approved types of books. unless other wise stated Graphic novels will not count as novels (for example... I know that Big Nate, Diary of a Whimpy Kid and Tommy Failure are fun books but they will not always count as the genre.) If you have trouble finding a book or have questions on whether it is appropriate, we will be going to library every week and I am there to answer those types of questions at that time.
5 pts- Turned in on time.  Due dates will be posted and students will be reminded.
10 pts- Report.  For each project and report I need a one half page report on the book. This report will include the title, author/illustrator, setting, main characters, summery of the plot, your favorite part and whether or not you would recommend this book to others. This can be written on a piece of lined paper or typed and printed. If typed, make sure you are single spacing and using no bigger than 12 pt font and black ink.
15 pts- Project  A project will be required for each book report. Unless otherwise stated, the students will be able to pick from the list of projects below. DO NOT  repeat the same project twice (because there are a lot of fun projects and repeating is boring) I have attached project templates and examples of quality work that will earn the students the full points. If there is another project that you would like to do let me know and i will probably approve it.
